We are eternally grateful to the fallen and wounded Dallas area police officers that were savagely attacked last night. While protecting and affording citizens’ their freedom of speech and right to peaceful protest, gunfire erupted. You ran towards that gunfire instead of away from it; engaged, isolated, and eliminated the threat. Your swift and decisive action undoubtedly saved the lives of countless citizens and fellow officers from further tragedy. You stared in the face of evil and upheld that solemn oath we all took in one form or another: “…that I will lay down my life, rather than swerve from the path of duty.”
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the fallen officers. The pain and void of their sudden exit from this world cannot be explained in words. Their selfless sacrifice will be forever remembered.
To the wounded and recovering; rest easy knowing your law enforcement brothers and sisters, even in the face of aggression and dissent, remain vigilant in their commitment to suit up, work their shift, and uphold their commitment to duty…tonight, tomorrow, and every day thereafter.
And to the mass of first responders who also selflessly and honorably reacted to the threat…though the wounds you sustained may not be physical, the emotional scars can cut just as deep. Take care of each other and know that the silent majority of the
nation is behind you.
